This is a print of my painting, "Shelton Johnson Calls". It is printed on metallic paper. The artwork is 16 inches x 11 inches with an extra 1/2 inch white border around this size. Shelton Johnson Calls Description: This piece focuses on where the intersection between race and class has informed my and many of our collective childhoods. I often think about how overlapping adversities of being black and from a lower class makes areas of "play" inaccessible as a child. One recurring point of inaccessibilty coming from these intersections is the inaccessibilty of greenspace due to the mandated infrastructures of poor black neighborhoods. I want to acknowledge the inaccessibility of some children to a truly fruitful childhood. In these childhoods we can't remain blissfully unware of the impact of our adversities. Some elements from my past childhood may seem collaged in with my reimagined space, such as in “Shelton Johnson Calls”. In instances such as this I like to imagine that these dual worlds are in the beginning stages of aligning, this early phase in the process may lead the scene to be less cohesive and lead to things such as distortion of scale. In this piece Shelton Johnson calls the children from these government regulated neighborhoods back into the natural world. His life's mission is to encourage black people to reconnect with the natural world. People of disadvantaged groups need to be invited into the space of imagining what a just world is so we can begin to craft it.

International Shipping: International shipping is available to certain locations and is limited to standard artwork sizes only. During the checkout screen, you will be informed if shipping is available to your location. Shipping and handling times will vary by location. Please allow 10 to 25 days shipping time for your international package, production times can be found above in the respective "For Prints" or "For Originals" section. International orders may also be subject to additional duties and taxes. Please be aware that these fees are not included in the prices listed on my website, nor am I responsible for covering them. International shipping is a flat $50 USD for all products, but becomes free with a minimum spend of $200 USD.
Returns: If you aren't entirely satisfied with any of my art products, you have 7 business days from receipt of the artwork to notify me of the return. After notification, you have 14 days to ship it back. Unfortunately, if the art hasn't been notified and shipped within this window I am unable to offer refunds or exchanges. To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it. Return costs are the responsibility of the buyer. Damaged Packages: I am happy to replace, refund, or fix (if applicable) damaged art products at no cost to you. Please reach out within 21 days of delivery for any of these options. Unfortunately, if I haven't been notified within this window I am unable to offer refunds or exchanges. Lost Packages: If you never received your products, you have 60 days from the day you placed your order to notify me. All packages are sent with a tracking number. Tracking information is sent to the email account that you provided to us upon checkout. If your tracking information indicates that your package was delivered but you never received it, please contact me at amurisart@gmail.com and I can help contact local postal carriers or customs office (for international packages).
